Bodegas Tour Seville

Bodegas tour is an experience though the history of wine that is finely intertwined with the history of the region. Our tour guide will perfectly explain the place of these bodegas in the history of wine making and the history of Spain. To give this tour a real personal touch we will visit only small family bodegas and vineyards that are not part of the mass tourist attractions.

Although the roots go way back, the importance of these wineries start with the exploration of the new world. Did you know that up to 1/3 of a ships load could consist of wine? Something that the crew really didn't feel bad about. Since the rule was that they had to bring that many fruit and wine was made of grapes, this was the perfect solution.

We start this experience in Seville, and take the bus to the beautiful village La Palma del Condado. We will start our visit at the Bodegas Rubio, after that we go for a little hike through the vineyards were we do a wine tasting, and we finish with a private lunch between the barrels of a small family bodega.

The Bodegas Rubio are world-famous for there 100 year aged brandy Luis Felipe. The history goes back to the discovery of some forgotten oak barrels of matured wine. Way different than the brandy known at that time. During the visit to the bodega we will get to know all about the mystery and aging process of Luis Felipe and off course we will taste this very exclusive beverage.

After this visit we will leave the village for a little hike through the vineyards. Here the owner will tell you all about the local vines, grapes and production process before we have a wine tasting in the middle of the vineyards with beautiful views over the valley where the village is situated.

Our last stop is at a small family bodega, after a short tour we will sit down between the barrels for a intimate private lunch inside the bodega.
